Business Calculations is composed of an hour long 100 question objective test. Test competencies include: consumer credit, mark-ups and discounts, data analysis and reporting, payroll, interest rates, investments, taxes, bank records, insurance, ratios and proportions, depreciation, and inventory.

Agribusiness consists of an hour long objective test. This is a new event based on economics, finance and accounting, health safety, and environmental management, management analysis and decision making, and marketing and terminology and trends.

Client Service
Client Service is a competitive oral event that consists of a five minute interaction between a panel of judges to determine how to solve real-life problems. The event is based on rapid critical thinking skills and public speaking abilities. Client Service is a role play event.
Example case study:
You work for the National Bank of America (NBA) as a Customer Care Representative for online bill payments in one of its Customer Care centers. NBA is one of the largest banks in the US and has offices throughout the country. The NBA online bill pay function allows customers to manage and pay their bills using their computer. Customers go to the bank’s Web site, input payment details, and schedule payment to arrive before a bill’s payment due date. The bank then electronically transfers or mails a check to your creditor in payment of your bill. Your bank guarantees that all payments will arrive by the payment date you specified. You will be fielding a call from a customer (Judge). After introductions, you should “answer the call” with the following greeting: “National Bank of America, this is _____ (your name). How may I help you?”

Electronic Career Portfolio consists of a portfolio, which must include a data sheet and a career summary, and a presentation focusing on career research and student readiness.

Health Care Administration
Health Care Administration consists of a 100 question 60 minute objective test. Health care administrators manage the business side of health services, ensuring the effective use of resources to ensure the best medical care to the community. Test competencies include managing office activities, enhancing communication skills, identifying legal and ethical issues in health care practices, managing financial functions, and enhancing employability skills.

Sports and Entertainment Management
Sports and Entertainment Management is composed of an objective test and a performance component. A one hour objective test will be administered based on management, networking, marketing, promotion and sales, and many other test competencies. Finalists (based on the objective tests) will receive a case study twenty minutes prior to the performance and will have seven minutes to interact with the judging panel and present a case solution. Sports and Entertainment Management is a role play event.

Computer Applications consists of an objective test (15 percent of the final event score) and a production test (85 percent of the final event score). Objective test competencies include: basic computer terminology and concepts, presentation, publishing and multimedia applications, security, basic application knowledge and word processing, e-mail, integrated and collaboration applications, netiquette and legal issues, spreadsheet and database applications, formatting, grammar, punctuation, spelling, and n. Desktop Application Programming
Desktop Application Programming consists of a prejudged program and a performance component. The program must address the yearly topic. Finalists will have seven minutes to present their program, followed by three minutes of question answer with the judging panel.

Help Desk consists of a 100 question, 60 minute objective test and a role-play performance based on customer service in the technical field. Objective test competencies include: help desk operations and procedures, customer management, support center infrastructure and procedures, professional career and leadership skills. The performance must demonstrate the ability to make a businesslike presentation, demonstrate effective verbal communication skills, provide ways for client to solve their problem, translate case into effective, efficient, and spontaneous action, and to resolve conflict resolution.
