How do I join University High School FBLA?
Although anyone can join UHS FBLA by attending meetings, you must become an official member to compete. To register as a national member, please bring a $20 check made out to UHS FBLA, and be sure to include your name (exactly as it appears on your student ID card), grade level, and 5-digit ID number on the check. National membership registration occurs around September or October each school year. I’m not interested in business. Can I still join?
Absolutely! FBLA teaches students valuable life skills such as teamwork and self-discipline as well as business. We also participates in a variety of non-business-related community service events, state projects, and chapter bonding events. Additionally, because of the amazing variety of competitive events, students can personalize their experience according to their interests. For example, FBLA offers competitions in business, medicine, sports, graphic design, and much more. For a comprehensive list of all competitive events, please see the national website (scroll to the bottom). What kind of activities does FBLA have besides competitions?
Along with our amazing conferences, we participate in state projects and community service events as well as invite local businesspeople to be our guest speakers. The bonding and networking done both within our chapter and with members from other chapters gives UHS FBLA members the invaluable experience of fostering friendships and meeting people from around the nation. |
What does University High School FBLA have to offer?
UHS FBLA grants students the opportunity to develop essential business and life skills. Though leadership conferences, team-building, and career training, FBLA offers a valuable and enjoyable experience unlike any other on campus. Are all competitions written tests?
Many events, such as Impromptu Speaking, involve only a presentation or case study. Other events, such as Parliamentary Procedure, involve performance aspects along with a written test. Because of the great variety of events that span from Introduction to Business to Digital Video Production, every member can find an event that suits his or her skills and interests. Where can I find more information about FBLA-PBL?
